Vikram Doraiswamy is the next High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh

India has decided to appoint Vikram Doraiswamy as the next High Commissioner to Bangladesh. He is replacing the current High Commissioner Riva Ganguly Das. India's foreign ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
Meanwhile, High Commissioner Riva Ganguly Das is set to join the post of Secretary (East) of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. Indian External Affairs Secretary (East) Vijay Tagore will retire in September.
Vikram Doraiswamy, on the other hand, is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. He has served as India's ambassador to South Korea. He was also the Joint Secretary of the Bangladesh and Myanmar (BM) Department in the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
