US President Donald Trump has praised Anthony Fauchi, a top infectious disease specialist in the United States, for his high public support rate, then jokingly said, "No one likes me."

Fawcett’s remarks came as Trump spoke in support of the malaria drug hydroxychloroquine at a news conference at the White House on Tuesday, Reuters reported.
 Trump, on the other hand, has been criticized for trying to tackle the epidemic. He is in danger of losing to Democratic candidate Joe Biden in the November US presidential election. He is struggling to improve his position among the voters.
Most public health experts say hydroxychloroquine should not be used to treat coronavirus, as the use of this drug can lead to other problems, including heart problems.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration last month revoked the drug's use in emergencies after several studies cast doubt on the effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine in the treatment of Covid-19.
